Guayasamin Wines

Guayasamin wines are imported from Chile (yes, I know, Guayasamin is an Ecuadorian artists, not Chilean), and are just a really good line of economical wines. We have been struggling to find a good, everyday bottle that we like, and Guayasamin offers great flavor, a lower percentage of alcohol (12 as opposed to the 14 you find in most other Chilean and Argentine reds), a variety of varietals, and only cost about $10 per bottle.

Where: You can find them at your friendly local Supermaxi.

Average Price: $10/bottle

  1. Enjoy while you can. The Guayasamin wines are limited production under license from the Guayasamin Foundation to Chile's renown Cono Sur winery (their winemaker has twice won Decanter Magazine's International Winemaker of the Year award). They were issued in 2009, 10 years after Oswaldo Guyasamin's death and a portion of every bottle goes to his heirs and to the foundation that supports his legacy. They come in three tiers and the one described is the lowest of the three but all should be good wines.
